Hi there! We (Boldport Limited) are committed to protecting the privacy of personal data that you share with us and to ensure that you have a rewarding experience on our website, and with our services and products. This document outlines our personal information handling practices both online and offline.
‘Personal data’ means any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier, as defined by the ICO. If you’ve given us personal data we will treat it according to this policy. This policy covers all Boldport websites, services and products, and is applicable worldwide.
VISITING AND USING OUR SITES
When you visit our sites we may automatically collect data about your activity through the use of cookies, web logs, and web beacons. We also use Google Analytics. We may also collect information about web browser, IP address, time zone, and other information that your browser shares. Our websites may provide links to other third-party websites which are outside our control and not covered by this policy.
Web browsers may have a setting that allows you to automatically send a “Do Not Track” message to the websites that you visit. We do not currently have technology to respond to such requests.
DATA COLLECTION, RETENTION, AND SHARING
When signing up to the Boldport Club we collect the following personal data via Cratejoy and/or Squarespace:
— Name
— Postal address, including company optionally
— Phone number if provided
— Email address
— Payment details (via PayPal or Stripe)
Our legal basis for collecting this information is fulfilling our contractual obligation to provide you with the services that you paid for. We use your personal information to:
— Ship projects to you
— Invite you to our community channel on Discord
— Send you information about projects and Club news, events, and promotions
— Provide support
We share your personal data with third parties who help us run our business and deliver our products and services. Your data may be transferred and stored outside of Europe by some of the third-party services that we use. Where required we may also share your personal data to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
When you sign up to the Boldport Club you do so through Cratejoy and/or Squarespace who manages the admin aspects of running the a subscription service such as ours. Payment information is captured via Cratejoy through PayPal or Stripe, depending on how you choose to pay. Managing the data stored in your account is done through your admin console where it is possible to delete your shipping address(s) and payment information. For deleting your account completely please make a request using the details below.
For updating you on information about the products you purchased, news, and promotions we use MailChimp. Your name and email address will be automatically added to our ‘Boldport Club Members’ mailing list on MailChimp when you sign up. We email once or twice a month with important information about the products that we are about to send or ones we sent you. We will also additionally announce meetups, promotions, news, and other relevant content, but normally not on an email on its own. We do not remove you from the mailing list when your subscription ends. To remove yourself from the mailing list click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any email we send. To join again, use this form.
For community engagement we use Discord (previously members signed up to Slack in order to join our community). We’ll use your email address to send you an invitation to Slack, where our community hangs out digitally. Participation in our community is optional. For deactivating or deleting your account, follow the instructions here.
We will maintain the information that you provided to us for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information, or do it yourself. If you’re a European resident you have the legal right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. SIGNING UP ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER PERSON
If you are signing up to Boldport Club on behalf of others (for example, when you are gifting a membership), it is your responsibility to obtain their consent to share their details with us, which we will assume that you have done prior to signing up. It is also your responsibility to represent that person during the signing up process, which means that you will need to provide us with the information required to do so, such as the full name and address of the person concerned, and explain to that person how we will use their personal information as set out here.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone who we know to be under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 18 you should use this website, services, and products only with the involvement of a parent or guardian and should not submit any personal information to us. If we discover that a person under the age of 13 has provided us with any personal information we will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete such person’s personal information.
CHANGES
We may update this document from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
